I am currently working my way through the Grant County Thriller series by Karin Slaughter and listening to Legendary (2nd book in Caraval series) by Stephanie Garber.

I also have a few ARCs that I need to read this weekend

This is a very sweet book about someone who cares more for others than she does for herself. Martha Storm has lived alone since her parents passed away. She gave up her independent life when her parents got sick and she moved back home to care for them. Martha is a volunteer at the local library and she feels it is her job to help people. If anyone needs anything she will try to help. This includes laundry, sewing, babysitting, etc.  

One day she sees a man leaving a package outside the library and the package is addressed to her. She thinks this is odd but picks it up and takes it home. When she opens the package she discovers a book with a message to her from her grandmother. The problem is the message is dated after her grandmother's death.   This is the beginning of Martha trying to find answers and she finds so much more.

I really enjoyed this book.

In light of Middlegrade March, I decided to do a modern children's classic this month. I have seen the movie years ago but had never read the book.

This is an adorable tale of a very bright little girl who lives with a not very nice family. She loves books and discovers she has an amazing ability.

What am I reading?

I am enjoying listening to Caraval by Stephanie Garber on Hoopla. This is the first book in a trilogy.  Scarlett and her sister, Tella, have never been allowed to leave their island home.  They desperately want to see Caraval.  When Scarlett receives an invitation to Caraval Tella sets a plan in motion to make it possible to visit the magical place.

Book 2 is Legendary (available now)

Books 3 is Finale (available May 7, 2019)

This book is about a mother's love and how she would do anything for her daughter even if her daughter is no longer here.  Kat wants to prove that Grace did not commit suicide and she wants someone held accountable for her death.
